Syringa Networks, a Boise-based fiber-optic network provider, has added the new J.R. Simplot Company World Headquarters complex in downtown Boise to its expanding fiber network.
Originally commissioned to deliver high-speed bandwidth to Simplot facilities across the United States and internationally, the J.R. Simplot Company — a global, privately held food and agribusiness leader — selected Syringa Networks to provide high-capacity fiber connectivity to its new headquarters. This builds on a longstanding partnership between the two organizations.
Over the past several years, Syringa Networks has connected more than 130 Simplot sites, both domestic and international, delivering reliable broadband to rural and remote locations. The collaboration began with Simplot operations in Afton, Wyoming, and eastern Idaho, and has since expanded to numerous facilities across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and beyond.
One example of this joint effort includes a project with Simplot and a major cellular provider to construct a 300-foot tower in Grand View, Idaho. Syringa Networks brought fiber broadband to the tower, enabling residents — who previously experienced spotty coverage — to finally access high-speed voice and data services.
“Telecommunications and broadband access is essential to the businesses and residents of rural areas. We are proud to do our part in bringing connectivity to remote communities,” states Greg Lowe, President and CEO of Syringa Networks.
Mark Sachs, IT Manager at Simplot, highlights the importance of the partnership: “Syringa Networks is a critical component of our overall IT strategy at Simplot. They continue to bring creative solutions to the table as our network grows — whether at our new corporate facilities in downtown Boise, our international sites, or our plants across rural America. Bottom line, Syringa Networks is a true partner.”
